Here are three more cards we made during Creative Session at CTMH Regionals!

Day 6 - Vauxhall!

Well, we made it!We started early this morning (we were driving by 5:30 am - I know, I know, we were shocked too!) It turns out Google maps overestimated the driving time but our GPS told us it was only eight hours total trip, not nine like we thought which was a nice surprise. We stopped in Moose Jaw to pick up breakfast, an hour in Swift Current to play at the park (and stop at Tim Hortons :) and then on to Vauxhall. There was a lot of water in the ditches in southern Saskatchewan and Alberta too but no main roads washed out though.The kids were really excited to see Grandma and Grandpa when we arrived mid-afternoon and have already jumped on the tramp and visited the cows!

Here is the banner we made:

We added dimension to the pennants by punching out scalloped circles with the new CTMH scallop punch, crinkling them up, unfolding them and then folding them in half and attaching to the top of the pennants. The letters “WISH” (we could put any four letter word we wanted on them) were raised with 3-D foam tape. CTMH's chipboard comes white which is great because we could leave one of the pennants white and just embellish it! To finish the pennant, it would be easy to string them together with ribbon or you can use the metal rings given. We used the new Fanfare Level 2 assortment brads to embellish as well. We were given four pennants but the chipboard banner comes with seven pennants in each package for $6.50.

Day 5 - Estevan, SK

We're back in Canada! This was our quietest day yet. A couple of stops for gas and bathroom breaks, lunch at a little diner in Fessenden, ND (a small town!) and an afternoon break at Bowbells,ND at a great playground. North Dakota is pretty quiet, not a lot of cities but they do have lots of water right now. We drove by lots of flooded ditches and fields. No water over the road that we saw but pretty close to it!

Tomorrow we're planning to start early and make it home to Vauxhall where we'll visit a few days before heading on to Olds Sunday afternoon. It's a nine hour drive tomorrow but then we'll be done :)

Toronto CTMH Regional Celebration - LOVE layout

Here is the layout we made on the second day at Regionals that used the spray pen!

I hadn't used my spray pen yet so I learned some great tips! We mixed 1 part Tulip re-inker to 3 parts water and sprayed the background pages inside of box which was great to keep the mess to a minimum. Then we spritzed the heart stamps with the spray pen and stamped them on white cardstock which gives a neat distressed look.
We also put a bit of Grey Flannel re-inker into a craft jar and then used a stipple brush to edge distress all the edges of the paper. I really loved the look of this! The key was to brush using an inward-pulling motion.
I also enjoyed using the new epoxy stickers - they've been on my wish list but I hadn't bought them yet so I was thrilled to receive a sheet of them and I have stickers left to use on future projects!

The pictures are of Daniel's youngest niece who just turned one. I can't wait to see how she has grown! 

Day 4 - Fargo, ND

The kids thought yesterday and today were some of the best ever – between LEGO Discovery Center yesterday and the Mall of America today! Daniel and Nathan had watched the “Timberland Twister” roller coaster on the computer a couple of years ago and Daniel had remembered that it was at the Mall of America in Bloomington, just south of Minneapolis, MN. It was only 10 minutes out of our way so we stopped in at the “biggest mall in the world” (I'd be interested in how the West Edmonton Mall and the Mall of America would compare!). We told the kids they could each go on one ride – and then we thanked God when another family gave us their leftover tickets and it turned out to be “Toddler Tuesday” - half price tickets! There were no line-ups and all the kids (& Daniel!) got to go on 3 rides each. Nathan is also much braver now after having climbed to the top of the aerial ropes course. Here are some pictures:

 Daniel is in the middle with Nathan on the far left middle. They both made it up to the very top though! (I don't know if you can tell but they were wearing harnesses).

 We had fun checking out another LEGO store :) All of the figures on the top of the store are made out of LEGO - truly amazing!

It seemed like a long drive after that to Fargo, 4 1/2 hours away but Paddington Bear on CD entertained us all and Jeremy and I had a nap which helped! Tomorrow we should make it to Estevan, SK!

Toronto CTMH Regional Celebration - 3 Cards

I can't believe it's been over two weeks since I attended Close To My Heart's Regional Celebration and I haven't even shared what I learned and the projects we made! I had a great time learning business tips and strategies from Kristine, Stacy, Sheena and others - wonderful and amazing corp gals that have so much to share. The two four hour creative sessions were great! We made two 2-page layouts, 6 different cards, and a cute banner. Here are three of the cards we made:

 

We were given 5 new stamp sets, all the paper pre-cut, and all the embellishments!
